Re-read the original book RIGHT AFTER reading this book!

The original book suddenly became much richer and more enticing after I finished this Behind the Story, I HAD to open up the original book once more! What a way to increase the reading experience! Highly recommended!

Rebecca Skloot was 16 when she first heard about the HeLa cells in a classroom. Her teacher informed them that the cell line came from a black American woman who had died of cancer in 1951. It was the same year that her father, famous writer Floyd Skloot, had contacted brain illness caused by a virus that had no cure, reason why he permitted himself to become a drug test subject.
