The quasi-medieval, semi-magical setting is a bit pro forma, but Lukens (the Rules series) has created attractive heroes in Tal and Athlen, and their romance is rendered with a light touch and a straightforward resolution, making the book a good fit for fantasy fans a bit younger than the stated age range. Ages 14–up.

Love , love beloved
Love this book it’s actually my first same sex romance book. I love fantasy and romance book and this had me losing hours of sleep at night to keep reading! I wish there was more I wish I could keep reading about Tal and Athlen. But this book had it all for me! Thank you so much for writing this
oh my god
i read this in less than a day. it’s beautiful. so fun to read. i love it. it’s so lovely. does it happen fast? yeah. do they acknowledge that it happens fast? yes! and sometimes you don’t want slowburn and worry! sometimes you want a perfect little story with just the right amount of angst and cuteness and fantasy and family and everything. i loved this. it’s just so pleasant to read. i loved the characters and wish i could just follow their day to day lives. that’s all i’ve got, for now. so good !
