Jules Verne's In the Year 2889, possibly written by his son, was first published in 1889. A Voyage in a Balloon in 1852. In the first, Verne presents a picturesque depiction of the society of 2889, complete with all its scientific advances. In the second, he deals with the travels in balloon that lead the travellers to new and unique discoveries.
