This book got me totally hooked on the series
While book 1 in this series was good, this book really got me hooked on this series because there was a lot of conflict, several mysteries revealed, and a lot of good character development. It introduces some new characters, but some of them end up having an important role in the future story.
The Gouz-Maise gang confrontation acts almost like a side story, but then later you find that it works to help forward Ray’s overarching story arc, which is interesting. Once again, Ray’s indomitable will and determination is almost like a special power he has in this world.
There’s more tidbits revealed about the mystery of what the Infinite Dendrogram world really is, which makes the story even more intriguing. I also like how each of the characters, not just Ray, is shown to be evolving in different ways.
I was totally excited to get book 3 after reading this book. With this volume, this has become one of my favorite light novel series, almost as good as "Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" (DanMachi).
