Insane to Kill

Seattle defense attorney Mac Brodie wonders how many times fate can be tempted before he or those he loves die. He and his small staff are determined to go back in time - before the front page cases that have nearly killed them, but a letter from the gallows changes all that. 


A death row inmate pleads for the firm to look into the murder he swears he didn't commit. Meanwhile a widow insists that her husband didn't die of an overdose. Brooke Fletcher, Mac's wife and new law partner, can be very convincing and neither Mac nor his investigator, Seth Ivarsson, can say no to her. So, reluctantly both men agree to look into the two cases. Seth finds a startling link to the seemingly diverse crimes, but has doubts he's right. Mac gets a call from Massachusetts that his old high school girlfriend has been murdered and her teenage son has been arrested. Joined by his brother-in-law, a small town cop, the three men are soon chasing leads across the country and discover that a serial killer has been operating unfettered for years. But, on the flight home to Washington, Mac hears  devastating news. Headlines and death have found him once again.
