A comprehensive sourcebook for the study and practice of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, yoga philosophy’s consummate classic text, by one of its most inspiring modern teachers. Extensive cross-referencing, a
sutras-by-subject index, section by section previews and reviews, study guide for teachers and students, a word-for-word sutra dictionary, Sanskrit glossary, and down-to-earth hints for daily practice. A unique, must-have
treasure for spiritual seekers from beginner to advanced.
The studiable translation.
Jaganath has written one of the best most studiable versions of the yoga sutras. If you desire is to deeply study this path and book and I would recommend this version before any other. His commentary is to the point and on topic not wandering into philosophy that isn't directly related to the sutra at hand. The way the book is broken down makes it far easier to bounce around and make deeper inquiry and gather references within the book. It does more than list the sutras and that is why I recommend it.
My only complaint would be that he does not have a original translation. more or less just simplifying the translation of Sri swami satchidananda.
I wish my writing skill was on the level to give confidence in my recommendation but this is a must if not the must translation of the sutras.
