New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis introduces the charming little town of Wishful, California, the perfect place to start for a woman wanting more from life . . .
LET THE DREAMS BEGIN
Numbers cruncher Katie Kramer has been the good girl all her life and yet she’s still a fish out of water, still a square peg trying to fit into that round hole. So the real question is, can good karma be wished for? Because she’s wishing, damn it. Wishing hard. At wits’ end and rock bottom, she stares up at the night sky (barely visible past all the L.A. city lights) and falls asleep dreaming about a huge, twinkling, falling star, and makes three wishes on that star.
One, to experience a real-life adventure complete with amazingly athletic feats and danger. Two . . . good sex. And three, to belong. Really belong somewhere. Anywhere.
The next day she reads an ad about a small, far-away mountain town named Wishful, and an expedition company that needs a bookkeeper. She thinks of her wishes. Maybe . . . maybe she had to dream it to live it. So she heads to the quirky little town of Wishful to find the Getaway Inn . . . and Cameron Wilder. Cam’s lived a thousand lifetimes in his thirty years, and there’s so much he wants to show Katie. Most of all that there’s no way to escape karma. . . .
“Jill Shalvis sweeps you away.”
The first in a new series by veteran romance author Shalvis hits the ground running. After Katie Kramer survives a devastating accident, she resolves to "live life balls out" and leaves L.A. for a job with Wilder Adventures in the Sierra Madre mountains. Hunky Cameron Wilder, a champion snowboarder whose career ended with his own devastating accident, appears, and the attraction is instant for both of them. But neither wants a relationship so it's up to the Wilder clan to make them realize that they were meant to be together. What elevates this beyond the standard of the genre is the Wilders, particularly the subplot around Cameron's surrogate mother, Annie, and her husband, Nick. Their relationship problems and love for each other are more authentic than what's found in most romance novels. The Wilder men make great romance heroes while Katie is a great heroine: fearless but vulnerable, bright, charismatic and a great match for Cameron, who is classically reserved and brooding. By focusing on the Wilder family as much as she focuses on the couple, Shalvis thoroughly engages readers as she finds the perfect women for the other Wilder men.

I read my first Jill Shalvis novel over Christmas vacation. I was in NYC with my family. My son came down with the flu and I had nothing to do but watch him sleep in the hotel. A perfect opportunity to actually read the book I checked out at my local library.
I've been an obsessed fan of Jill's books and an avid reader ever since.
Her stories make me laugh out loud! The characters always find their way right into my heart. The love is always sweet and oh so hot! I love that the men are strong and alpha like and also great guys. Good guys to the core. It makes them so lovable and desirable!
Instant Attraction was my first non- Lucky Harbor book. It definitely had a different feel. I grew to love Wishful and it's cast of characters just as much! Katie was so sweet and cute. And Cam, mmm-hmm! Yum! His character developed and grew so much. Sometimes it was hard to feel how much he hurt and how he wouldn't let love in. Katie and Cam had amazing chemistry! They also had this intense need of each other. Katie and Cam genuinely needed each other to heal and be whole again.
I did notice a few grammatical errors. I also noticed Katie had her car even though hers had been in the bridge accident. None of these things took away from my enjoyment of the book.
I loved this story! I will read it again!
Amazing! I couldn't put it down

Loved this book. Couldn't put it down... Wish there was a sequel!
