This interview introduced Qi Gong medicine (Qi Gong Doctors) to the United States. It had never been written about before this interview took place and was published.
When this interview was done, there was only one single Qi Gong doctor practicing in New York City. Virtually no one in the USA had heard of a Qi Gong doctor. It was a time when the FDA and USA Physicians were saying Acupuncture was basically voodo. It was impossible for it to do anything. Acupressure was just a massage. Touching acupuncture points, or putting needles in them would only be an imaginary cure... even though the Chinese and many other Asian cultures had practiced it for centuries... long before our “traditional” Western medicine ever was thought of.
Dr. Xiu was classically trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, where he practiced in hospitals. He was trained in Acupressure, Acupuncture, Herbology, and then went to special training to learn how to use Qi to treat people.
