Intestinal Fortitude

Starting around 1994, the incidence of colon cancer amongst younger people, specifically 50 years old and younger, began to increase significantly. Today, 10% of new colon cancer cases are found in patients under the age of 50 years old. This is a global problem and it is likely that the rate of early onset colon cancer will continue to grow, and possibly double by 2030.

I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the Sigmoid Bowel, Stage 2A, in November 2022 at the age of 48 years old. "Intestinal Fortitude" is my story.
