Not centered, no note taking...
The concept of interactive text books is an excellent concept and Openstax seems to work well on a regular computer.
However, the iBooks version of this book (the only version I had to pay for) is not ready to be rolled out.
The text is not centered to the point that information is cut off the page, the interface isn’t the most intuitive (I keep ending up where I don’t want to be) and most importantly, you cannot highlight or take notes. This was one of the main attractions to the Openstax site.
Not being able to highlight and take notes is particularly odd because I can highlight and take notes in any of my other non-college related books I have downloaded to iBooks.
The iBooks version was a waste of money and I’ll just be using the desktop version for now.
Hopefully, those three areas can be addressed. If they are, I’d be happy to update this review.
