Avoid this outdated tedious book

Apparently he wrote a book a decade ago on Objective C, and then made some cosmetic changes and changed the title to misrepresent it as an IOS15 book. I have a collection of XCODE and SWIFT books, and this is the only one that is constantly talking about Cocoa touch, delegates, Objective C and many other outdated topics. This book is written from the point of view of someone who was a professional programmer in 2005, and wants to start over with all that out of date info, with a peppering of new concepts. I feel really cheated by this book. I was familiar with Matt’s book on Realbasic which was good but was wildly outdated and never updated. So when I saw the title specifically mentioning ios15 and looking at the sample, it seemed that the book might actually be useful. This is the worst purchase I have ever made and the most expensive one. There are other books that I have bought repeatedly as they are actually updated for the newer versions of Xcode - and I don’t mind pay $40 again for a book that is actually meaningful. This book is crap. He also has links for tutorials where he asks for even more money, and directs you to buy his books on other forums. For example, his Combine “tutorial” begins with a snipped of code which is fairly sophisticated from Swift 4, and then he shows how you can do it differently in Swift 5.5. This entire example is worthless if you are not already pretty sophisticated. He also seems to just love to explain things in the most wordy way as possible. On the other hand, much of this book starts with very simple concepts like what is an object, and then he goes into these abstract definitions. Absolulely no one will learn anything from this book. Anything you read is likely to be from a completely outdated version.
