My first by this author and I found that I like the way they set this plot up and it gave us the emotional aspect of the characters situation and how they found love that wasn’t planned.
Terrific mafia romance!
This one is a heart twister with tons of emotion as two damaged people find their way to love. A marriage of convenience is not the norm for a mafia romance but it’s fantastic as this talented author takes on a journey filled with heartbreak, a few ugly cries and some cringeworthy scenes of brutality. Anya has suffered so much at the hands of evil but she fought to overcome the trauma and find a safe life. Only her family wants her to marry and that thought leaves her cold. Enter Paddy. A man with his own dark demons. A plan is born and Anya and Paddy decide to marry to appease both families. This is a terrific addition to this fabulous series with outstanding characters and romances that are sweet, sexy, and in this case hard won as two damaged souls find their way to love and happiness. I look forward to the next installment. Loved it!
Gritty, Raw and Romantic!!
Anya was sold, owned, and abused, and may never get over it. Her family is pressing her to marry, or at least date, five years later. The only man she can actually touch/hug is her brother-in-law Pierce who helped rescue her. Paddy seems to have the same family pressures. A marriage of convenience would get both families off their backs, and allow Paddy to continue his low-commitment lifestyle.
Anya only asks for a big garden and a sewing room - how hard could that be. With protective relatives on one side, and relatives with high expectations on the other; many are still watching. Paddy does not know how to be in a relationship, even one that is just “friends”. Turns out Anya can stand his innocent touches as she trusts him.
A tough start, but a beautiful journey. Once again this author delivers a stellar read.
