“An epic saga of seven generations of one family encompasses the tumultuous history of Hawaii as a Hawaiian woman gathers her four granddaughters together in an erotic tale of villains and dreamers, queens and revolutionaries, lepers and healers” (Publishers Weekly).
Four women are called together by their domineering grandmother, who recounts the epic history of their Hawaiian family.
A wonderful, complex, compelling story
This book imparts so much history and texture of the Hawaiian islands. And it’s so well written.
I have read this book many times and continue to read it on occasion... once I start I become drawn into the story and cannot stop reading it. Everyone has different tastes in stories, but I love a story that has some history to it... if you're sensitive there are a few very graphic areas. I have a handful of books I read over and over and this is one.
I loved this book, great read.
