The Baumann family’s ties to their ancestral land are as fierce as their determination to overcome overwhelming odds. Their hard-fought ranch, Fort Badge, is now thriving on the North Dakota plains near the Missouri River, but the post-World War II world is changing, threatening to destroy everything the Baumann line has established. The ranch is endangered by the encroachment of the Garrison Dam waters and forced relocation. In the years to come, the family must tackle hardships inflicted by the Korean War, natural disasters, and the COVID pandemic.
