Jack Goodman’s America

The 1950s was a time of optimism. America had recently celebrated victory in World War II, industry was booming, and the humankind was looking ever forward into the future and into space. It was during this time of prosperity and hope that Jack Goodman came of age.


As a young man, Jack is a model of success with a college education, a beautiful wife and daughter, a home of his own, and a prestigious and fulfilling engineering career. From all outward appearances, his life seems perfect, an object of envy among Saint Louis’s up and coming. But inside of it are the seeds of disappointment, pain, greed, and betrayal, and even honorable adherence to a life of doing what is right and good can’t protect Jack from the dark side of the American dream, calling into question everything he once held to be true about his world and his destiny.
