Publisher Description

Step.1 - UME (梅, Japanese plum)

This book is for students who are interested in Japanese traditional events and language.

In this book you will have fun finding out about Japanese traditions while naturally learning a new language.

For many different levels of Japanese learners, there are three books using different styles of writing.

In this version, you can read hiragana in two ways.

One is writing using only hiragana, instead of Japanese kanji, katakana and hiragana sentences.

The other is putting pauses in hiragana sentences in order to get a place to punctuate, because Japanese doesn't have spaces between words.

There is also an accompanying English translation.

You have choice in two hiragana versions depending on your level or favor.

Additionally, there is a table showing how to read Japanese dates because the readings of certain dates are quite different from other regular numbers.
