Amazing
I just finished reading this book. The expanded understanding I gained of music theory, and specially jazz theory, is fantastic. I got hooked on this book from the first few pages. My knowledge of theory deepened much because of this book. I love the approach. All new building one top of the previous lessons. Then the harmonic analizes of tunes in the later pages is just so good. It holds your hand and walks you through the modal and functional theory. I am buying a hard copy of this book for my brother (like right now). I started reading Mark Levine’s Jazz Theory book because it was my second recommended book. So, I am understanding everything there so easily becuase of the knowledge I already obtained from this book. This is an amazing book.
