Jilted

Very good read.

I've been a long-time reader of Vi Keeland's books, and this one ranks up there at the top of the pile for stories I've loved. Sloan and Wilder really settled deep into my heart and I didn't want their story to end! First of all, Sloan was just a sweetheart and Wilder? What was there not to love about him? Rugby god, seriously handsome, and his eyes sounded like you could just drown in them. But the best part? He's British! I am going to have to grab the audiobook for this one just to listen to him talk. A British accent is my favorite!

I loved the slow burn of their relationship, and even though Wilder teased Sloan a lot and left little hints (okay, maybe not so little) about what he wanted to happen between them, he truly was a gentleman and let her set the pace in their relationship. Both Sloan and Wilder had been burned in the past in relationships, so they were hesitant to delve into anything meaningful, but it was inevitable that they would fall head over heels in love. There were a few bumps along the way, but ultimately, they overcame past insecurities and fears, and they really were just perfect together!

Even though it was a deeply emotional story, I loved there was a lightheartedness about it, with Wilder's beauty regimens and the way he liked to hide fruity drinks in a beer can, so he still appeared manly. I admired the love and dedication he had to his younger brother, and I loved the way he remembered every little thing about Sloan and all of the thoughtful gestures he made along the way. She is certainly a very lucky woman!

I can't stop smiling at the ending, and I may have shed a few happy tears before I closed the book. What a beautiful story, Vi Keeland!
