This moving, adventure story, based in Thailand, astutely mixes both magic and reality to help engage young and older readers in acquiring a better understanding of philanthropy.

 

A little girl, Milae, has run away from school and has not come home to the slum, where she lives. Jo, an awesome social worker, and his very loyal Gecko set about trying to find her. They develop an extraordinary and magical way to help little Milae address and cope with her fears about her father, who is sick due to a work accident…

 

All proceeds from this book will go to Kids Home Foundation, operating in Chiang Mai (North of Thailand) which helps to provide access to Health, Education and Safety for migrant children living in slums.
