Joan's Life

Evacuated by Naval gunboat as the Japanese Imperial Army swept into Shanghai, along from England on the last ship before Nazi submarines began unrestricted maritime warfare, Joan’s travel adventures began before she was 15 years old.
In her own words Joan covers her journey and adventures from her quasi-Victorian childhood in San Diego to her lifetime of travels across the United States and around the world.
