John Smith

Publisher Description

This is the story of my time on earth as far as I can recall

I was born in the year nineteen hundred and twenty seven. On the twenty sixth of October, on the north side of the great city of Glasgow In a place known as the Budgeon which was across from the Blochairn Steel Works, In the Proven District of Glasgow.

My elder sister Margaret, and my brother William, had arrived some time before me, both born in the small room and kitchen in the Blochairn District of Glasgow.

I was supposed to have been christened Robert after my grandad Kelly. However I was lead to belief, (Which I heard later in life) that my mum had a fall out with my  grandmother, so I was named John, after my dad.
