Johnson V. Charles Morris As Secretary Of Department Of Social

A writ of habeas corpus was issued by the Superior Court for Thurston County to the Secretary of the State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) for the release of respondent juvenile, Gerald S. Johnson. DSHS petitioned this court for a writ of certiorari for review of the trial court's finding that the juvenile court jurisdiction statute, RCW 13.04.260,*fn1 by which DSHS extended respondent's commitment past his 18th birthday, was ex post facto as applied to respondent.
