Publisher Description
Scorned, penniless, and pregnant, Alex must fight for faith, family, and love.
Alexandra Fisher and Jonathan Dixon meet in a honky-tonk outside of Nashville and instantly share a mutual attraction. Raised Jewish in New England by her wealthy, controlling father who holds her in contempt, Alex learned to comply with any request to keep the peace, even agreeing to marry his ideal candidate for her husband. Georgia construction empire scion Jon accepted a long-term project in Nashville, intending to spend solitary time healing. Very much the prodigal, he realized how far he’s strayed off the path of his traditional Christian upbringing, and worked to repair his relationship with God before returning home to mend fences with his family.
That night, Alex decides to take control of her life while, simultaneously, a horrific news story sends Jon back into a tailspin. After instructing the waitress to keep the drinks coming, they both make bad decisions that result in permanent consequences.
Back home, when Alex stands up to her father, he pulls her trust fund, closes her accounts, applies influence with her employers, and evicts her. Alone, pregnant, and cut off, she can do nothing more than journey to Atlanta, hoping Jon can help.
When Alex discovers Jon is not the blue-collar construction worker she assumed, she feels betrayed. However, his family’s zest for life, love for Christ, and deep respect for each other show her how much was missing from the life she knew. She soon falls in love with Jon, but doesn’t think he’ll believe her. Jon knows he’s fallen for Alex but doesn’t know how to convey the depth of his feelings.
Arriving at a mutual understanding of faith while looking through very different worldviews, they cling to each other, uniting as one, and learn to connect with God. But will family strife and all their baggage destroy their marriage before it even gets off the ground?

Thought Provoking & Encouraging
What happens when a Christian behaves in a very unchristian way? How should the Christian family react to their sin and its consequence? This is a beautiful story about searching hearts, faith lost and found, repentance, grace, forgiveness, and love. Alexandra’s Appeal is a wonderful romance with a fast paced storyline that keeps you turning pages well into the wee hours of the morning. I enjoyed Jon and Alex’s love story, but the best part was the love story of a risen Savior drawing His children-one whose faith is floundering, and one who is just discovering Him-to a life-changing relationship with the Father. No spoilers! I don’t want to wreck anyone’s pleasure in all of the twists and turns in this inspiring adventure. The Dixon brothers is a MUST READ/MUST OWN series because I KNOW that I’ll want to read the books over and over again!
Real and relatable
Hallee’s characters are always easy to relate to. Jon and Alex face circumstances that have them questioning the God they thought they knew. Through Hallee’s great writing we get to experience their realization that God has been at work in their lives for years and has so much more in store for them.
Contemporary Romance
Alexandra's Appeal by Hallee Bridgeman is a contemporary romance that continues The Dixon Brothers Series. Having read several other stories from this author, I knew what to expect and was not disappointed. I like her style and her honest and redemptive approach to realistic struggles that her characters have. The characters have depth and reality, and their emotions, strengths, and foibles resonate well with readers. This is a story of learning to trust--of coming to the end of pretty much everything one has ever known and having to start anew. It is a story of overcoming past hurts and disappointments and present dilemmas, and, of course, a story of romance. One thing I found interesting is the references to Messianic Judaism and how Alex and Jon embraced that faith and were strengthened and encouraged by it. Included in the book is a suggested luncheon menu for a group discussion with recipes included as well. The author also added a list of questions for that group discussion. Readers who enjoy contemporary romance with strong themes of family and faith will not want to miss Alexandra's Appeal.
I received a complimentary copy of the book, and a favorable review was not required. The opinions are my own.
