As a single individual with no children, I was surprised when coming across Joseph's Journey. I was looking for a children's book for my nephew. As I read Joseph's story I was astonished! I had never read a book like this for children before, and certainly not when I was a kid. Christina Nicole Smith not only empowered Joseph in his choices of thought and emotion but empowered me to think about things differently. I also have never really seen or read books for kids that dealt with such real issues in people's everyday lives. As they say, don't judge a book by its cover is an understatement! And the cover is actually very well done. I had to get a copy and when I showed it to my family and as they read it, they were just as impressed. I would highly recommend every reader to obtain this book as it is definitely one for the collection on the shelf.
