Journey to Ak'ras

Kamna, the empathic ruler of Zhandari, seems to have the world in his hands, but he is stalked by a gruesome fear that he will lose control to Toan, the creature that inhabits his body, and murder Daneela, the woman he loves. To spare Daneela from Toan's growing power, Kamna seeks to drive her away, but when Daneela's brother, Josef, and Troc, an arrogant soldier bent on stealing Daneela's affections, are abducted by Iana, the insane ruler of what is supposed to be an extinct race; Kamna and Daneela set out to rescue them. Iana has been trapped in Ak'ras for a thousand years. Now she has a way out. Destroy Josef's memory and transfer her essence into his body. Josef, suffering from amnesia, believes Troc to be his enemy and forces him into slave labor in the mines of Ak'ras where, along with an orphan slave girl and telekinetic healer, he is marked for death. Kamna must find them before Iana slays Troc and destroys Josef's mind. In the process, he must control the "demon" within or lose Daneela forever. However, Toan has never possessed an empath before and Kamna is about to learn that sometimes-even demons fall in love.
