Journey to California

In the early summer of 1925, Anna & Swan Johnson and their four children, aged 6 to 13, embarked from their home in Denver, on a six-thousand mile “auto tour” of the West. After packing their Cole 8 Touring car with food, camping 

supplies, emergency cans of gasoline, extra water and other necessities they began a 71-day adventure to visit family, friends and the Nation’s Playgrounds.
