Publisher Description
The best things come in pairs.
Summertime in Nicolet has always been idyllic, but for Heidi and Shelly Lakanen, the summer of 1994 brings just a little more than they've bargained for. When Steven Davis comes to town, the Lakanen girls know their lives will never be the same, but they have no idea just how much their sisterly bond will be put to the test as a result. It bends under the strain, but will it break?
From the moment he drives into town, Steven Davis can't shake the sense that something wonderful awaits him in Nicolet. The loneliness of his past fades almost completely as he finds himself embraced by the fun-loving Lakanen clan, but one decision risks the loss of everything (and everyone) he's come to care about.
For Steven and the Lakanen family, it's a summer of shattered dreams and beautiful surprises.

Great story
I loved everything about this book. Could not put it down. Highly recommend.
A love story with depth
The author treats her characters with love, which made this a joy to read. The book is very philosophical and, dare I say, spiritual in its approach to love. The story is about romantic love and familial love, and friendship. It definitely stands out in its genre.
Loved the Story!
Charlotte Everhart has peopled this book with wonderful characters. The descriptions of the town's surroundings are breathtaking. It is a sweet story about the relationships within a family and with the young man they invited into their family.
While reading I experienced happy moments that made me smile and sad moments that brought tears.
I felt like I knew these people and wish I had them in my life. It had just the right amount of romance in it of the exact sweet type that I enjoy reading. There is nothing graphic in it and no foul language and no cliff hanger ending.
I received an ARC of this book for which I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. I would like to thank Mrs. Everhart for sharing this wonderful story with me and very much look forward to reading the sequel.
