Joy to the World

This book is deducted to my father, Roger Gierhart. Every night before bed, he would sing the first verse of Joy to the World by Three Dog Night to me and my brother. This song has always meant so much to me. As someone who has always dealt with insomnia, this song would put all my fears aside. Thanks Dad for providing me with such a lovely childhood memory.

This mixed media piece pays tribute to my childhood lullaby in a style reminiscent of 70s psychedelia. Bright colors and paint textures keep the viewers eye moving, while the hand drawn typeface grounds the piece. Enjoy!
