Comic strip animals with googly eyes populate Fischer's (Twinkle) verse sequence, which has the kinetic energy of a jump-rope rhyme. Well, I'm a bug. I'm a bug./ I'm a snug little bug,/ and I'm sleeping on a jug./ Until I see a frog, and I... JUMP! The frog's tongue lashes across the spread, while the purple and red ladybug makes a run for it. Next it's the frog's turn; its slumber is startled by a Disneyesque Persian cat, who is in turn disturbed by a hound dog, and so on. Fischer's action sequences recall the Sunday funnies, and the unvarnished paper accentuates the feeling. With each iteration, his watercolors feel brasher and more playful (a shark looks like he's more interested in wrassling with a croc than devouring it). By the time Fischer gets to a whale, the double-page spread flips from landscape to portrait as the animals are blasted into the air with a sploosh! from the whale's blowhole. Read-aloud takes no more than a couple of minutes, but it's a rousing couple of minutes. Ages 2 6.

You have the pages incorrectly aligned...the big JUMP section for each encounter is cut in half
This totally ruins the flow of the book and the child's enjoyment... Please correct this. *update...pages STILL haven't been fixed... So I can't use this to read to my son as the continuity is broken...again: Please Fix This!!!
*update: page alignment is still off, this ruins the flow of the book when reading it to my child... The pictures are split in half and now make little sense...
PLEASE FIX THIS!! Uncorrected, this knocks two stars off the rating I would give this charming children's book.
Ok it's two yrs later and you Still have not fixed the way the illustrations align on the page if you bothered to LOOK, you would notice that most of them are two pages wide you have the wrong two pages appearing together in almost every instance. It RUINS the experience. Frickin fix it already!!! You would sell a helluva lot more of this book if you fixed this.
Pages are off
Like the other reviewer noted, the pages are off which ruin the book. I reached out to the publisher and they have ignored me. I got a refund from Apple.
