Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done.
But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life. Even if it requires working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn and living in an apartment above a garage.
It’s there, on the fifth worst day of her life, that she meets the handsomest man she’s ever laid eyes on. Knox Eden is a beautiful, sinful dream, a chef and her temporary landlord. With his sharp, stubbled jaw and tattooed arms, he’s raw and rugged and everything she’s never had—and never will. Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.
Juniper Hill brings us back to Quincy Montana with Knox Eden and single mother Memphis Ward.. who is also a new employee. Memphis accepts a job at The Eloise and drives across country with her baby for a new start. Knox reluctantly agrees to allow Memphis to rent an apartment on his property and the chemistry between them can be felt from the first meeting. I fell right into this book although at one point I did want to put it in the freezer! Let me explain, after everything they had both been through I was happy to see things workout and I didn’t want the coming struggle or plot twist for them. I just wanted to suspend the moment and allow them to remain happy. But the book did not go in the freezer and Devney thankfully did not draw it out. I completely enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the one in the series.
My New Favorite!
Juniper Hill has cemented for me that The Edens is my new favorite series by Devney Perry! I felt the chemistry between Memphis and Knox the instant they met. The gravitational pull. The destiny. The author let us know this was inevitable, but as readers, we just weren't sure of the journey. Memphis arrives in Quincy, Montana frazzled and with a baby in tow. Leaving her world of privilege and wealth behind, she ends up in Knox's loft temporarily as she takes a job at his family's hotel as a housekeeper. Knox, the hotel's chef, doesn't want anything to do with a woman who is in Quincy to stay and certainly less to do with a woman who has a baby. His heart wouldn't survive it. With every phone call Memphis gets from home her confidence to make it on her own gets chipped away. With every day that passes and every night that Drake's cries are heard, Knox's resolve to stay away from them dissolves. Which will crumble faster? Will Memphis' parents convince her to come back home before the Edens convince her to stay? Will Knox's Ex run it all? This story is a wonderful journey! Quincy, Montana has become my favorite destination!
A must read
One of the best books I’ve read!
I love every Devney Perry book, they never disappoint. They just keep getting better and better. The characters and the emotions will have you falling for Memphis and Knox. Their story will take hold and not let you go until the end…but you will still want more. Thank goodness we will be getting more books in this series because that means updates on this family!
