American jurisprudence is one of the three arms of our nation's government that is supposed to protect and preserve the public good. If we didn't have a justice system that guarantees an unbiased judgment of right from wrong, society would be chaotic. But what does that mean in practice?


JURY DUTY gives the account of a real double murder trial in Los Angeles from the perspective of a seated jury member. The gang-related crimes on trial were not an open-and-shut case. The people involved were three dimensional, complex, true-life characters inhabiting a stratum of society that most people would prefer not to examine too closely.
