This book is about the story of an orphan boy with musical talent, and his two violins. David and his father set out from their idyllic mountain home to go to meet family, but en route, David’s father, who is sick, dies, and David is left stranded in a little farming town. No one can read his father’s handwriting on the notes he’s left for David or his signature, and David doesn’t know his last name. A stern farmer and his wife take David in, and learn more from him than they realize! David, who counts only the sunny hours of his life, soon touches all the people’s lives he meets in his new life with his beautiful violin music and sunny disposition.

Music for a Glad Heart
This Author out does herself every time she writes! The boy David brings much warmth to many cold hearts in this story. If I could give it 6 stars I would! Highly recommend!
A book I grew up reading.
Such a lovely old classic. Today’s screenwriters & producers could use some of these old stories.
Nothing short of beautiful!
I am approaching the end of my 3rd pregnancy and wanted a book to carry me through. I asked friends for suggestions on uplifting books and this was one suggested. Because it was free on iBooks I chose it first. What a gift the suggestion was. This book is beautiful and expands your mind to look at life through a new light. It is deep and soul searching and every bit of the "uplift" I was looking to experience. I highly recommend this book!
