Recently widowed and newly jobless, forty-two-year-old Rhett Davis (and yes, she's heard all the jokes about her name) has a choice. Stay in her small Texas town where she never quite belonged or reinvent herself in Dallas with a new car, a new look, and a second chance at life.

Falling in love again? Not on the agenda. Not even a little. But then her upstairs neighbor turns out to be Rhys James—devastatingly sexy, very single, and the lead singer of the rock band Illicit. Suddenly Rhett's reconsidering this love thing especially after Rhys makes it clear she's the one he wants.

Too bad Rhys comes with complications. Music owns him. His ex-wife is trying to slither back into the picture. His daughter demands center stage. And Rhett quickly learns that loving a rock star means competing with a life that never slows down.

Still, Rhett didn't come this far to play it safe. And now that she's got him, there's no way she's letting Rhys James go without one hell of a fight.
