K´iben de la Selva

K’iben y B’atami son jaguares que nacieron en la Selva Lacandona de Chiapas, México. Su madre les transmitió la sabiduría del jaguar para que entendieran cuán importante es su presencia para preservar la ecología de su hábitat. Cuando K’iben creció y emprendió su propio camino se enfrentó a varios problemas que no estaba preparado para resolver y es por esto que terminó en un zoológico. Ahí conoció a Beatriz, quien le dio esperanza y le prometió que lucharía por salvar a su especie y su entorno.

K’iben de la Selva no es un cuento de hadas. Es un mensaje dirigido a los jóvenes que busca informar sobre la importancia de los jaguares, explicar su problemática actual y despertar el interés por la Ecología.

K’iben and B’atami are jaguars that were born in the Lacandon Jungle in Chiapas, Mexico. From an early age, their mother tought them the wisdom of the Jaguar so they would understand how important they are to the ecology of their habiat. When K’iben grew up and forged his own path, he confronted several problems that he was not ready to overcome, which is why he ended up in a zoo. There he met Beatriz, who gave him hope and promised she would fight to save his species and their habitat.

K’iben de la Selva is not a fairy tale. It is a message directed to today’s youth that informs on the importance of jaguars, explains their current problematic and attempts to awaken the readers’ interest in Ecology.
