APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Kane and Abel is an exciting literary gem you may have never heard of. The novel follows Abel Rosnovski and William Kane, two men born on the same day into two very different social worlds. Jeffrey Archer’s epic spans decades, following his two protagonists as their separate journeys toward wealth and power collide. Along the way, the story explores fascinating historical moments, including the Great Depression and the First and Second World Wars—all seen from perspectives in England and America. We loved the colorful, melodramatic way Archer deals with issues of intergenerational wealth, personal legacy, and the dramatic turmoil of the early 20th century. Kane and Abel had us looking back at this seismic era with new eyes and got us very curious about how the characters’ offspring would continue to push the story forward. Luckily for us, there’s a sequel: 1982’s The Prodigal Daughter.
