Publisher Description
This is a story of a father and daughter, Lizzy, who work on a farm in Kalamazoo. The father instills a serious work ethic in his daughter - and in the animals that live on the farm. One day, Lizzy discovers a kangaroo. Her father agrees that it can live on the farm if Lizzy can find the animal a role. Lizzy succeeds, but then she discovers even stranger animals - Kangaroosters. What job will she find for them? The story is written in a rhythmic, rhyming style for the younger set. It's illustrated with boldly colored, cut-paper pictures. It is similar - both in writing style, humor and imagery - as "When Cows Fly," another book by Tom Watson that has consistently ranked in the top five for free children's stories on iBooks. You may want to get that book to see if you like the style. It is, after all, free. Tom is also the author of the popular Stick Dog series.

kangarooster
My six year old daughter liked the pictures and how the story had a rhyme to it. Nice bedtime story.
Great story
A fun read with nice basic pictures and good rhyming. Thanks to the author. Good for my 8 year old.
Kids loved this
This is really clever. Love the curious idea of animal-combos. As a parent, really liked the work-ethic lessons of the farmer-father character. My kids enjoyed the sing-song style of the rhyming words. Bright, fun illustrations were a bonus. Highly recommended.
