Knight has succeeded in merging several, seemingly incompatible ideas into a new world; placing recognizable elements into an unprecedented situation.

The reader is then confronted with the conditioning of his own perceptions and required to re-examine his understanding.

In this way Knight urges comment on controversial subjects in society, by crafting a narrative which addresses these issues in a fictional universe where some light-heartedness remains, but ‘rules’ are undermined.
