Sweet & Gentle
Kayaks and Kisses is related to the Sunshine Bay Shops series, by Jeanine Lauren.
It’s not, very long, about 50 pages, so ideal if you want a brief, relaxing read.
We meet Grace at a difficult time in her life; she has literally just buried her best friend. Nearby, is the grave of her brother, gone too soon while on an adventure. Grace is contemplating what her brother Tyson would say if he was with her. She looks to the River, & sees a beautiful man, pull up in a kayak. David has recently come to Sunshine Bay, and is getting his kayaking business going. He sees Grace, and is struck. Before she knows it, quiet, safety-conscious Grace has agreed to a kayak lesson!
This was a sweet, gentle story, about two rather lonely people that meet at a crossroads. These aren’t kids, or even 20-something’s; ages aren’t given, but the impression is late 30’s, even early 40’s. I mention this, because even mature folks can be hesitant to open to a possible relationship. It can be awkward. What if one suddenly pulls back, scared to admit their growing feelings?
Kayaking can be an adventure, but an even greater adventure…a greater risk…is love.
Thank you Jeanine Lauren for a sweet, gentle story.

Great reading
This book about Grace and David who find their forever love. It was a very feel good, happy romance but I do wish it was a bit longer. I wanted to learn a little bit more about the characters.

Can Grace and David find a way to each other?
Jeannine Lauren took us back to visit the residents of Sunshine Bay. This time we meet Grace and David. Both have suffered losses. And while Grace is closed off from the surprises the world has to offer; David is worried he will be hurt again.
However , when they meet, they both feel an immediate spark. Both characters have to learn to overcome their issues if there’s to be a chance for them.
I wholeheartedly recommend this story. I really like both characters. Jeanine Lauren manages to tell an engaging tale in a 60 page novelette.
