What everyone’s saying about Keep Her Close:

‘A fast-paced thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. I read it in one day as I did not want to put it down. Goodreads Reviewer

‘A psychological thriller that had my heart pounding with anticipation!... A fast-paced action-packed journey that homes in on parental love and the depths you’d resort to finding your daughter… An intense story… slowly revealing other side-line characters who each have their own secrets that are unearthed as the plot continues. Revealing that nothing was ever really as it seemed from the on-set. Without giving away any spoilers, this is one of those novels that by the time you get to the end, it really makes you think about what you thought you knew about the beginning. It’s very clever and certainly ends with a satisfactory bang! NowFiction, 5 stars

‘I really enjoyed this read. It's a fabulous page-turner… A fast-moving tale of relationships and secrets. It's well-written and the style reminded me of early Harlan Coben / Linwood Barclay… A fun, well-told drama and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.’ Goodreads Reviewer

‘The tension ramps up as the narrative unfolds in this quick-read, fast-paced tale of a family in crisis… The suspense builds as the story unfolds with some interesting reveals and plot twists that keep the pages turning… Recommended.’ Goodreads Reviewer

‘The book has a great premise and an interesting start. It then moves into a fast almost frenetic pace where everyone is running somewhere… I love Judy.  Her character unfolds with the story and I understand her motivation… A good story.’ Goodreads Reviewer

‘Delivers a real punch at the end!’ Goodreads Reviewer

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow, what a great first book to read by Erik Therme. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to pick up a book of his. This definitely was on my to be read list for way too long. I can’t wait to read another book by him.

This book is about a young woman who is seeking out the truth about her past. Ally was found wandering around many years early and was adopted into a very loving home. Then one day she receives a letter about the family she never knew. Of course she wanted to know more but knowing more leads to trouble.

Where do I start about this book. First, I want to say what a great, fast, easy read it was. There was never a dull moment in the book. Every chapter was exciting and filled with so many twists and turns leaving the reader wanting more and more. I could hardly put it down. It also helped that the characters all were so likable and meshed so well with the story line. I especially liked Ally innocence. She was way too trusting which lead her into a very dangerous situation. But by the end she started being tougher and that got her out of the mess that she had created. The story line was awesome too. Who doesn’t like a story about finding out where you came from no matter the cost.

Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wild goose chase with exaggerated sub-plots

When a letter arrives announcing he is her biological father Ally’s interest is piqued after spending fifteen years trying to find him.

Characters: Ally is a gullible character. Dan is a hot tempered and protective character. Holly is a supportive and understanding character. Cal is a selfish self serving character.

Story: Dan and Holly adopted Ally when she was three years old. For the last fifteen years Ally always wondered if her biological father was still alive.

This was a character driven story with each new character being introduced with an extensive backstory.

Overall: I wasn’t expecting a story based on a divorced couple raising an adopted teenager who wants to locate her biological father. The entire premise centered around Ally being adopted. She struggled to fit into a life with too many unknowns. She believed that finding her biological father would give answers to who she was.

It’s just one long wild goose chase to find Ally. Along the way, a crazy cast of characters were introduced for some unnecessary drama. These characters had some questionable outcomes.

This story reads like a puzzle with missing pieces. I got tired of the craziness so I skimmed a good portion of the book.

I didn’t think this was a gripping thriller. There were many twists and turns, but nothing in those twists and turns provided the answers as to Ally’s whereabouts.
The transitions from one chapter to the next gave no indicating as to who was being addressed. One minute your reading about Cal and the next your reading about Dan. I can’t wrap my mind around it.
There were too many exaggerated sub-plots with unnecessary details and characters. The characters and sub-plots went on a short journey of their own not leading to anything relevant. This was some convoluted story telling.

The story ends in an anti climatic way making you wish you paid more attention to what these supporting characters were rambling on about.
