Intriguing Story
Ryker, Duke of Helmworth, is a bachelor and a rake, and plans to stay that way. His upbringing has caused marriage, and fatherhood, to be categorically unappealing. He belongs to a secret club of like-minded dukes. One source of entertainment for the club is wagers and dares. Failing to complete one of these tasks results in a rather unpleasant penalty. Tonight’s challenge is to kiss a debutante, which he does. The next morning, he come down to have breakfast with his aunt and his new ward. Surprise! He meets his ward, Chloe Fairchild, the girl he kissed the night before. How does he handle this? He is already trying to discover who and why of a murder of a member of the club. This is a fantastic beginning for what promises to be an intriguing series. The plot is solid and holds your attention beginning to end. The story has a bit of everything, a group of haughty dukes, meddling relatives, a sweet country girl, and a somewhat aggressive group of religious zealots. There is murder, mystery, and danger. The chemistry between Ryker and Chloe sizzles. Might their marriage of convenience become something more? Keeper of Secrets is exciting and entertaining. I look forward to more stories from the Duke Fraternity.
