Kendi's Broken Promises

Kendi is a clever girl with a joyful laugh, yet she has one big problem: she always chooses playtime first. At school, her homework is crumpled and forgotten. At home, her chores are done in a rushed and messy way. Her friends, Mumo and Atieno, try to help, but Kendi just can't resist the call of a game of kati or chasing butterflies.

Everything changes one sunny afternoon when her mother asks her to fetch water from the river. Kendi makes a choice that leads to a terrible CRASH—the family's only water pot lies broken in pieces. Now, with no water and her family's trust shattered, Kendi must face the consequences of her actions.

Guided by her wise grandmother and supported by her responsible friends, Kendi begins a journey of mending what she has broken. Can a tiny gourd, patient effort, and a new routine teach her that true joy comes from a responsible heart?

A heartwarming tale of growth, friendship, and learning that our choices matter—at home, in school, and in life.
