Couldn't put book down. Wonderful ! Remember this is not a religious book!
Whether or not you consider yourself a Christian, you will thoroughly enjoy this book if you enjoy learning history. O'Reilly does a wonderful job of telling the story of Jesus in historical context. From Julius Caeser, to Herod "the great", to the incredibly evil Roman Emperor Tiberius, I learned a wealth of knowledge about the world in which Jesus lived. This is not a "religious" book, as O'Reilly explains in the opening. For example, the virginity of Mary is not stated as a fact, but rather, that the unwed Mary swears that she is a virgin. He discusses other miracles attributed to Jesus as claims from the people. He also doesn't REFUTE Gospels in Scripture or call them "myths". He allows the reader to believe as they choose. As a Christian, I'm fine with that.
