The Castle: elite, elusive … dangerous.
A secret organization which once stood for protection and benevolence, The Castle is now corrupted by illegal acts, greed, and dirty politics. Every crime syndicate and dirty politician on earth are determined to control the massive fortune guarded by The Kings: a found family forged by fate but called to action by crisis.
When their mentor ends up on the business end of an assassination attempt, he summons nine men to right old wrongs and track those responsible. The Kings of the Castle, now grown into captains of industry and influential leaders across Chicago, bring their unique skillsets to the daring mission to bring their enemies down—even if they have to rack up a body count to do it.
The job won't be easy, and nobody knows it more than the women destined to love each of these men. As powerful forces conspire to twist the Castle's riches for their own good, convictions are challenged and relationships tested. In the end, will the sacrifices be worth it?

The Comeback Kings
The book opens with a former teacher and mentor, Khalil Germaine, getting shot for protecting the reputation of the Castle. Throughout this book, the authors introduced and intertwined nine imperfect men who have a strong connection with Khalil. I will admit that keeping up, in the beginning, was hard. After all the characters were introduced, the book delivered an exciting and multicultural storyline that will carry throughout the nine-book series.
Vikkas, Daron, Dro, Shaz, Kaleb, Rico, Dewayne, Jai, and Grant were brothers in high school, but their abilities invited them to be Kings to protect the Castle, loved ones, and themselves. Each one of these prominent men is solid community members or fierce entrepreneurs in their respective fields. The King invitation comes with a cost, were they ready for this position? Each of the men hesitated their acceptance; the King’s responsibility is a 24/7 role to serve humanity globally. It comes with perks such as money, power, respect, and resources.
On the other hand, the cons were global targets, dangerous missions, and possibly death. Khalil thought it was necessary to seize their competences to overthrow the corruption with the current board members. Fate brought them together, and it will become their mission to find the person(s) who attempted to assassinate their mentor too.
I have purchased all nine books in which books two through nine are standalone. I just finished book two, and it did not disappoint. King of the Castle is a great read.
