When a scorching hot one-night stand turns into a deliciously forbidden office romance...
My first evening in London feels like kismet when I bump into a charming,
book-loving Englishman, and by the end of the night, he’s making me see stars. I’m
floating when we make plans to meet again.
Then fate decides to pull a fast one on me.
Turns out my smoldering new lover is my red-hot competition, and we’re vying for the same promotion at the elite auction house I crossed an ocean for.
If that’s not enough, the hottie and I are forced to work together on a brand new
Every. Single. Tempting. Day.
What's an American woman in London to do?
Staying far, far away would be the safe choice, especially when I learn about his past and how it mirrors mine.
But I don’t always play it safe with my heart…
Contents Include: A grumpy/sunshine office romance, secret gardens, knee-weakening kisses by the river and a hero who loves books.
Kismet is an MF, dual POV, sexy standalone romance that you'll love!
I don’t know if I was just in a weird mood, or if there was just a disconnect but I was not fully feeling this book in the beginning. Thankfully, whatever funk I was in lifted and I quickly fell in love with Heath and Jo’s story. (psh, I should know not to doubt Lauren Blakely) Kismet is a great mixture of sweetness and swoons with just a touch of forbidden. It’s a story of two people with an incredible connection engaging in one night of passion and red hot chemistry, only to find out they were new coworkers and competing for the same job promotion.
Jo and Heath are so perfect together. She's sunshine and determination. Full of sass, wit and cheesy pick up lines. He's handsome, intelligent but definitely not a people person. More of a prickly, don’t-like-anyone-but-you type, especially after losing his wife four years prior. As they work side by side and grow closer and closer you see just how wonderful they are together. I love, love, love how Heath shows Jo his London, making her fall in love with his city.
I’m not an annotator. I don’t typically make notes or highlight while I’m reading…but I found myself highlighting so many swoony, heart melting passages. That's how much I enjoyed this book. If you're looking for an easy to read, low angst, super cute romance with great banter, Kismet is for you.
Kismet is book 3 in the Happy Ending series and I have fallen in love for the the third time in this series.
I see the words “Swoon-Worthy” in slot of romance books, but I have to say Heath takes swoon-worthy to dreamy level, even if he may come off a little grumpy.
Jo is sweet and the sunshine compared to Heath’s moody grumpiness.
Love when 2 people who seem to be total opposites are actually so perfect for each other and reading their story makes you feel like you’re living it with them
Another sweet and romantic read for Ms Blakely!
I gave this 2 stars only because the guy on the front cover was cute! This, was by far, one of the most boring books I’ve read. The main characters were boring and the plot (?) I never did understand it. The best part of this book was the money that was donated!
