Review: Kiss Me At Midnight
Kiss Me at Midnight by Diane Alberts is a seasonal holiday story about having someone close at the holidays. Even if it's just for one night with no strings attached.
Well, no strings is what Ashley thought she wanted, even though she was secretly hoping her old high school best friend Ethan would show.
She's moved back to her home town to finish her residency as a local doctor. She heard he's back to visit his family for the holidays and that he might just show at the local bar. But he hasn't spoken to her since New Years Eve their senior year in high school and she STILL has no clue why.
Ethan's back in his much hated home town. He's not the nerd he used to be, the one that was always bullied and pushed around, but he still can't stand it here. He just wants to lose himself for a couple of hours between the legs of a willing partner and the woman standing at the bar reminding him of Ashley from the back is a perfect candidate.
So what happens when the look alike really is Ashley and he has a whole lot of apologizing to do for tuning her out nine years ago? Well my lovelies, that's the patr where you say "ooh this sounds cute and funny (and steamy) and I should definitely read this book".
A hawt romance that not only dishes the love, but also covers a little of how it feels as an adult to have been bullied as a child and how that affects life choices. Oh, and forgiveness, we get to see some of that kind of warm and fuzzy happening too.
I really have enjoyed Everything I have read from this author so far under this name and under Jen McLaughlin.
