Great introduction to a new series
I loved this initial book in this new series. Some of the characters are introduced and the low population of Second Chance, Idaho, located in the middle of nowhere, is a snow-filled wonderland. The family of Harlan Monroe is divided over the terms of his will, including the inheritance of Second Chance. The residents have no idea of what will happen to them in the future and whether they will be able to continue living there. Twelve grandchildren are the new owners, and some of them go there to begin assessing the town. Ella Monroe married into the family, but is left without her husband, who passed away. Her two-year-old daughter, Penny, is one of the grandchildren, and they do go to Second Chance. Ella meets the town doc, Noah Bishop, and this book is mainly about the two of them and Penny. The characters vary from quirky, cranky, kind and generous, and angry, and the story is well put together. I look forward to what happens in the future. I really enjoyed it. [I received this book from the author and my opinion is my own.]
