Kwa Abroad

Lungowe and Akalemwa have spent years competing over everything-from science fairs to exam scores-so when both heirs to powerful Zambian mining families end up at Harvard, Lungowe is determined to keep her distance. But somewhere between engineering classes, family expectations, old rivalries, and life kwa abroad, their constant sparring begins to look suspiciously like something else.

Kwa Abroad is a playful Lozi-English expression from Zambia meaning to be abroad or overseas-away from home in a foreign country. And for Lungowe and Akalemwa, going kwa abroad may change everything except their ability to get under each other's skin.
