An up-and-coming reporter, Johnny Follyn lands the job of a lifetime when he accepts an assignment to Libya to write a story on the Standard Oil Company. Intent on showing just how beneficial the oil company is to the people of Libya, Johnny isn't prepared for what he discovers.

As Johnny tracks the operations of Standard Oil, he also becomes more involved with Libya's history. When Johnny stumbles upon the secrets of an ancient riddle, he sets out to find the answers. With the help of a professor and his friend Ismail, Johnny delves deeper into the past, never thinking of the consequences.

But someone doesn't want Johnny to succeed, and they will do anything in their power to stop him.
