Tiresome but I somehow loved it
It's one of those books that one has to have read in their lives. From a literary point.. It's fantastically written , vividly descriptive and emotionally evoking. Over the course of reading this book, I hated it and loved it. All characters are not easy to love so maybe that's why.. But all in all I'm glad I read it
too many typos
This 2012 Vigo edition has far too many typos. It seems as though most of them come from bad print-to-electronic conversion. Most frequently I find “arid” for “and”, but there are many others. I have confirmed this by comparison with the printed 1961 edition from the Windmill Press. Better try a different edition, but the University of Oxford text archive ebook is even worse.
