Swoon worthy romance
Lady Imposter is book two in the Steamy Scandals series. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters are well developed and the pace is perfect. I liked the heroine Miss Olivia Hales. Olivia is just shy of thirty and resigned to spinsterhood. She serves as companion to Lady Juliet Letheridge. The story becomes a case of mistaken identity when Olivia stumbles upon the very handsome Captain Nathaniel Oliver and her own name flies right out of her head. “Trying not to blink - she didn’t want to spoil the strange moment - she dragged a breath into her starving lungs. That’s why she felt horribly dizzy, lightheaded enough to swoon: Not breathing. Lack of air. It couldn’t be how he looked at her…As though, strangely enough, he found himself drowning in her rapt attention - and made no attempt to swim to shore.” This book has a number of very steamy scenes. Overall, a story with depth that I truly enjoyed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I’m leaving my honest opinion voluntarily.
Entertaining Fun
This is an absolutely adorable story. From the moment they meet in the garden, where he is shirtless and pulling weeds, the chemistry between Olivia and Nate sizzles. He is trying to find a way to bow out of the husband competition, and she has come to tell him the spot is taken. Love at first sight takes care of the problem. Entertaining banter, stories of Nate’s daughters, some naughtiness in the barn, uh stable, and Mr. Hastings’s intervention (meddling) result in a splendid romance.
